For the parent first

Name three imaginary dishes for the child to repeat and extend.

Say to the child

“Remember the dishes, repeat them in order and add one of your own.”

How the game continues

  1. The adult says three short dish names.
  2. The child repeats them in the same order.
  3. The child adds one new dish.
  4. Switch roles for another round.

You are done when

After the last item, bow like memory champions.

If you get stuck

If an item disappears, the adult offers two choices. Help still counts.

More rounds

  • Restart with a new category.
  • The child decides the order.
  • Add a silly sound to every item.

Safety

The child stays with the adult, does not block other people and only observes the surroundings.
