Read one sentence starter at a time and accept any safe ending.

How the game continues

  1. Behind the door there was...
  2. The chair suddenly said...
  3. When the light came on...

You are done when

The child gives the final sentence, then say together: “The end!”

If you get stuck

If you get stuck, choose one helper: an animal, a vehicle or a magical object.

More rounds

  • Swap storyteller roles.
  • Use no more than five words per sentence.
  • Tell the same story with a silly ending.

Safety

The child stays with the adult, does not block other people and only observes the surroundings.
